HLB Mann Judd Adelaide has appointed Corey McGowan as managing partner effective 1 July 2026, succeeding James Hooper who has led the firm in the role for 13 years, and will remain as business advisory partner.

McGowan, who leads HLB Mann Judd Adelaide’s audit and assurance division, has been with HLB Mann Judd for more than 19 years and has extensive experience across audit and assurance, corporate advisory and financial reporting. His client experience spans ASX-listed companies, private businesses, fund managers, managed investment schemes, not-for-profit organisations and government entities.

As managing partner, McGowan will focus on continuing to strengthen the firm’s client offering, people and position in the South Australian market, while building on the foundations established under Hooper’s leadership.

“It’s a privilege to take on the role of managing partner and to lead a firm with such a strong history and reputation in South Australia. James has made a significant contribution to HLB Mann Judd Adelaide and has helped position the firm for its next phase of growth. I’m looking forward to building on that work while bringing my own perspective to the role,” said McGowan.

Hooper will remain with HLB Mann Judd Adelaide as a partner in the business advisory division, advising clients across business structuring, tax planning, succession, property, construction, agribusiness, and family businesses.
