What sort of graduates is HLB looking for?

How many graduates does HLB employ?
The number of graduates each office takes in varies year-to-year. Our formal graduate program usually opens in January and closes late March. Sometimes grad positions open up throughout the year. We recommend regularly checking our website, GradConnection or Prosple to see what’s available at each of the different HLB firms.
What is the graduate salary?
Graduate salaries depend on the market rate, type of degree and whether or not the graduate has had prior professional work experience. We will discuss your salary in the face-to-face interview.
Does HLB offer internships?

Can international students apply for graduate roles?
If you are eligible to work in Australia permanently (citizenship, permanent residency or NZ citizen) then you will be considered for the graduate program.
Do you accept Masters graduates?
We do welcome and accept graduates who have completed a Master’s degree. Please apply through the Positions Available page.
How do I apply?
We generally only accept applications that are submitted through our website. They are advertised on our Positions Available page of the website.
To apply online, attach your resume, a copy of your Academic transcript, and a cover letter detailing why you are interested in employment with HLB Mann Judd.
When applying, keep in mind that we’re looking for friendly, genuine and team-oriented people. We suggest referencing any experiences, interests or hobbies in your CV and/or cover letter so that we can see that you would be a good fit for our culture.
When will I know that my application has been received?
Once you hit the ‘submit’ button on the application form, you should receive a short thank you message followed by an email. This means we have received your application.
What is the selection process like for graduates?
Each year we receive expressions of interest from graduates seeking to join our program. HLB will contact you to advise if your application has been successful and if you have progressed through to the face-to-face interview.
Do you have any interview tips or advice?
Congratulations for passing the initial review process and proceeding through to the next step. An interview means that we want to get to know you. It is also an opportunity for you to get to know us.
The most important interview tip we can share is ‘be yourself’. We want to get to know the real you!
There are also a few things that you can do that will help you stand out in an interview. Firstly, do some research on us. This means reading our website or looking at our social media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube).
We also suggest bringing a list of prepared questions. We want to see that you are curious about HLB Mann Judd and eager to learn more.
How do I accept an offer?
The process for accepting an offer will be shared by HR in your interview. They will outline the steps involved and what is to be expected following the offer. Once you’ve accepted our offer, we’ll give you a start date and discuss the onboarding process.
What does the first day at HLB look like?
We have designed a program that fully supports your professional development as you embark on a career in accounting and beyond. Although the programs vary from office-to-office, from day one you will be made to feel welcome and part of the team.
Some of the things we will ensure you have from day one is:
- Welcome orientation
- Partner introductions
- Core support structure – you will be assigned a manager and a buddy
- Formal induction program which includes a competency framework, training program, benefits explanation, HR procedures and more.
