Advisory and accounting firm HLB Mann Judd has announced senior appointments in its Perth, Adelaide and Wollongong offices, with Rowan Tracey promoted within the WA-based partnership, Mike Rowe promoted to director, and Ian Brown joining the firm at the associate level, effective from today.

The announcement comes despite ongoing economic impacts of COVID-19, but is demonstrative of anticipated growth within business advisory, of which Mr Tracey, Mr Rowe and Mr Brown all specialise.

According to HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association chair, Tony Fittler, the appointments come at a time when Australian businesses are demanding expert, current financial advice in navigating through the recessionary environment.

“The ability for business owners to access quality advice from specialists in their field is more critical than ever. The appointment of Rowan, Mike and Ian to these senior roles is a reflection of their own personal success, and also the growth of business advisory across the board,” said Mr Fittler.

He said the experience of all three appointments in both domestic and international markets will also be invaluable to the Perth, Adelaide and Wollongong offices, which have long-standing client relationships.

“These three offices in particular are high-growth firms that tend to have clients who remain with the firm for the duration of that business’ existence. The fact that Rowan, Mike and Ian are highly skilled and experienced accounting professionals will only serve to strengthen these ties,” said Mr Fittler.

Previously director of business advisory services, Mr Tracey joined HLB Mann Judd Perth as a graduate in February 2005, and has extensive knowledge and experience in accounting and taxation issues across a diverse range of industries, including the building and construction industry.

He holds a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University, and is a member of both the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Rowe commenced his career at HLB Mann Judd Adelaide as chief financial officer and progressed to chief executive. He has extensive experience in senior finance roles, and has worked in major blue-chip organisations as well as having advised SMEs.

Specialising in technology, manufacturing, e-commerce and service companies, Mr Rowe has helped with business and financial transformation, as well as preparing organisations for growth and sale. Mr Rowe also brings international advisory experience to the role, having worked with UK, US and Australian operations.

Mr Brown has joined HLB Mann Judd Wollongong as an associate, and has experience in the areas of taxation, audit, and business advisory for small to medium sized businesses and individuals.

He began his career with a large Wollongong-based accountancy practice while completing his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong. He later became a partner of that firm before establishing his own specialised practice in Wollongong.
