Julia
Julia’s expertise includes estate planning, drafting of sophisticated wills and other testamentary documents, trust law and intergenerational wealth transfer. Julia also advises on post death issues such as probate and estate administration. Julia is director and Principal Lawyer of Monahan Estate Planning whom HLB Estate Services utilises for their in-house estate planning services.
Julia firmly believes that proper estate planning is essential to minimise the chances of problems arising post death and that the best estate planning result for a client is achieved when there is a collaborative engagement involving the client, the estate planning lawyer, and the clients financial professionals.
Julia has previously worked for the Department of Attorney General and Justice for seven years in Criminal Law and the Court environment. She has worked in case management, mediation and program management for a restorative justice program as well in the role of Deputy Registrar of the Drug Court NSW.
Julia has a passion for educating people on the importance of estate planning, and in particular, the importance of estate planning for young families, being a mother of three young children herself. In 2017 Julia began teaching succession law at the Australia Catholic University. She has also presented seminars on estate planning and been involved in writing and editing various estate planning materials for other professionals.
Julia has been a been a practicing Solicitor since 2014.
