About
John
John Reidy has over 23 years experience in advising clients in various accountancy related matters, including taxation, compliance and valuations. He has also developed a strong reputation for his forensic accounting work.
John has worked for a wide range of both private and publicly-listed clients, whose revenue has ranged from $1 million through to over $300 million. In addition, his experience has extended across several industry sectors including professional services, manufacturing, wholesale and retail traders, building and construction, printing, information technology and private investors.
John also has extensive experience working with high net worth clients and large client groups, assisting them with structuring, superannuation, asset protection and succession planning.
John has gained significant experience in business acquisitions and divestments, including managing the sale of a major construction company with annual revenues in excess of $300 million. His advice covered business valuation, assessing the taxation implications of various sale scenarios for both the company and individual vendors, and formalising contractual and legal matters, including issues surrounding warranty and restraint of trade.
Central to this task was John’s advice as it related to taxation matters, particularly his recommendation that the divestment be structured as an equity sale, rather than a business sale, to provide a better taxation outcome for all parties to the transaction.
John is known for his ability to build strong working relationships with clients and properly understand his clients’ goals, and tailoring the approach to his work in order for these goals to be fully met.
