About
Ben
Ben is a partner of HLB Mann Judd (Wollongong) working in the audit, assurance and business advisory team.
He completed a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Accounting at the University of Wollongong and completed his Professional Year with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2001.
Having commenced his accountancy studies on a full-time basis and attaining commercial experience working as a part-time manager for a local hire company, Ben has since accrued 15 years’ public practice experience with the business services, taxation, audit and advisory sectors within HLB Mann Judd (Wollongong).
During this time he has managed several large audit clients including aviation and jet charter businesses, a publically listed manufacturing and recycling organisation, a large coke production company, large local not-for-profit organisations specialising in the provision of employment for disabled persons and various other smaller private, charitable and not-for-profit institutions. He has also held voluntary treasury and audit positions for Wollongong City Surf Lifesaving Club and other local community organisations.
Ben has always believed in a hands-on approach to his work and as such, specialises in industries in which he has attained relevant skills, knowledge and understanding. His building and property development clients benefit from his earlier years of experience working on building sites doing carpentry. Ben's agribusiness clients draw upon the working knowledge he has of the farming and cattle industries through, not only his agricultural studies, but also the fact that he operates his own small beef cattle property in the Goulburn region of NSW.
In addition to being a Registered Company Auditor and a registered Self-Managed Super Fund Auditor Ben’s focus and passion has always been working with small to medium sized private enterprises and he actively seeks to retain a broad range of experience by undertaking considerable business, taxation and structuring advisory work.
