Alex
Since joining HLB Mann Judd as a graduate, Alex has developed a strong reputation for providing timely and practical solutions to complex business issues and is known for working closely with the firm's clients.
Alex has a sound understanding of both the private and public sectors and his experience extends across a broad range of industries including wholesale, manufacturing, entertainment and arts, building and construction, and not-for-profit peak bodies.
He has a strong technical knowledge to support clients through their financial reporting compliance requirements and resolving technical accounting issues. Alex has worked with owner-managed businesses and start-ups to listed multinational corporations. He is frequently involved in managing cross-border teams. Alex gained valuable experience working in Los Angeles on secondment at HLB GHJ where he developed his working knowledge of US GAAP.
During his time in Los Angeles, Alex gained valued experience performing entertainment royalty and profit participation audits at a range of film studios. These engagements involve working with film studios and on behalf of celebrity talent to assess if net profits were appropriately calculated and reported to profit participants. Alex has a sound appreciation and working knowledge associated with entertainment contracts, royalties and revenue-sharing arrangements and is a member of the HLBI entertainment and film industry working group which focuses on cross collaboration between a range of global subject matter experts. He currently works with a number of clients in the entertainment and film industry providing a range of assurance related services.
Alex is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an Executive MBA. He makes a point of continuously applying the critical learnings to how he manages his portfolio of clients. He undertakes a range of audit and assurance related engagements including external financial audits, half yearly reviews, financial due diligence, expert report work, and other specialist assurance engagements.
