Alexander is a partner who practices in tax consulting and compliance specialising in the funds management, property, agribusiness and transport sectors.
With more than 15 years’ experience working with fund and asset management companies, Alexander is the lead tax partner for the Sydney funds management team and is well-versed on the unique challenges in this sector.

- Assist fund managers on tax matters relating to the establishment and operation of funds, including MIT/AMIT eligibility and TOFA.
- Transaction advisory services for clients undergoing business transactions and restructures, including application of the tax consolidation regime.
- Advise clients on property transactions, including on matters relating to CGT, GST and stamp duty.
- Implement investment structures that optimise commercial and taxation outcomes.
- Assist taxpayers with ATO reviews, tax disputes, obtain rulings and improve overall corporate tax governance.
Significant projects
- A 14 year track record of delivering accounting and tax services to one of Australia’s largest active fund managers with over $110 billion total FUM and investments across equities, fixed income and alternative assets.
- Assisted an Australian fund manager establish an MIT structure to raise capital from foreign pension funds and purchase Australian agricultural land.
- Assisted offshore investors establish a structure to invest in the development and ownership of Australian hotel assets, including advising on capital raising (both debt and equity) and various international cross-border tax issues.
- Provide thought leadership including contributing articles related to funds management to the Tax Institutes journal and preparing submissions to treasury on proposed legislation that impacts the funds management sector.
