HLB Mann Judd’s Sustainability Steering Committee
HLB Mann Judd has formed a Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC), marking a significant step in its commitment to sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.

The SSC will spearhead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives within the organisation and for its clients, and will be led jointly by Nicholas Guest, Assurance and Advisory Partner at HLB Mann Judd Sydney, and Michelle Warren, Financial and Corporate Reporting Director at HLB Mann Judd Australasian Association.

The committee aims to foster an association-wide sustainability culture through the development of policies, education, and awareness, alongside meaningful initiatives, and enhance support for clients on their own ESG and sustainability journeys.

Furthermore, HLB Mann Judd has partnered with Sumday, a leading technology provider for carbon accounting. Sumday assists organisations in measuring their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to an audit-ready standard, facilitating accurate and reliable carbon accounting practices.

The partnership is aligned with HLB International’s 2027 global strategy, “Innovative People, Brighter Futures.”

Mr Guest said the value proposition for clients was at the heart of the initiative.

“Regulatory changes are on the horizon, impacting not just large corporations but also dynamic and entrepreneurial small and medium-sized businesses, and financial accountants are uniquely placed to help clients on their sustainability journeys,” he said.

“HLB Mann Judd is dedicated to supporting these clients in formalising their sustainability practices into effective policies that can be communicated to the wider community.”

Ms Warren said the move showcases HLB Mann Judd’s internal commitment to sustainability.

“We aim to enhance HLB Mann Judd’s impact on the environment, our people, and the communities where we live and work,” she said.

“Our firm has always been connected with our communities, but we are always looking at innovative ways to do more. Engaging our people to better understand risks and opportunities is crucial, and education is a key element of our sustainability approach.

“We are looking forward to taking on our own responsibility to make a positive and sustainable impact on the future.”

HLB Mann Judd is an Australasian association of independent advisory and accounting firms, with member firms in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
