At this breakfast event, HLB Mann Judd’s IT Manager, Matt Rowston, will provide an update on the cyber security landscape for small businesses and individuals, covering the key issues with clear, actionable solutions.
Cyber criminals are not necessarily becoming more sophisticated, but they are becoming faster and more convincing. Artificial intelligence is making it easier to create realistic emails, messages and scams, contributing to more than 84,700 cybercrime reports in Australia during 2024-25, or one every six minutes.
Matt will examine the current risks, emerging threats and practical strategies to reduce exposure. Cyber security today is complex, but Matt will simplify the key issues and provide insights in a straightforward and practical way, covering such topics as:
- AI in plain terms, and the questions to ask before any AI tool touches your data.
- Threats that target trust: phishing, voice cloning, deepfakes and supplier compromise.
- Protections that work, without jargon: identity, patching, backups and payment verification.
This presentation is designed to be accessible, offering attendees valuable tips and guidelines to navigate and thrive in the evolving cyber security landscape.
