Climate-Related Financial Disclosures Under AASB S2: What Directors and CFOs Must Decide, Build and Defend

Date: 2nd June 2026
Time: 7:00am - 9:00am
Location: Noah's at the Beach
RSVP Date: 6th April 2026

HLB Mann Judd and 2XE are proud to partner again to host our second seminar on Sustainability and Climate-Related Financial Disclosures.

WHY THIS SEMINAR MATTERS

From 2025, AASB S2 Climate-related Financial Disclosures will quietly reset how strategy, risk, capital allocation and financial credibility are judged for Group 1, 2 and 3 entities. On paper, it looks like another reporting obligation; in practice, investors, lenders and auditors will read it as a stress test of whether your business model can withstand – and benefit from – a climate and carbon constrained economy. This seminar is designed for Board Directors, Audit & Risk Committee members, CFOs and senior finance leaders who need to decide not just what to disclose, but how to build the governance, data, systems and capabilities that will stand up to scrutiny over the first two years of the new reporting regime.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

By the end of this session, you will:

  • Learn a practical, two-track approach that meets AASB S2 compliance and improves performance.
  • See where organisations typically go wrong in Year 1 and Year 2 CRFD preparation, and how to avoid these failure modes.
  • Understand what “CFO grade” climate and GHG data looks like, and how to govern it as financial information.
  • Clarify the decisions Boards, Audit & Risk Committees and Finance must “decide, build and defend” over the four-year assurance phase-in.
  • Learn how to move from one off, consultant heavy reporting projects to a repeatable reporting system.

EXCLUSIVE TOOLS YOU WILL RECEIVE

Participants will receive a practical AASB S2 / CRFD Readiness Ready Reckoner for:
  • Year 1: Partial limited assurance – what minimum credible compliance looks like, where to use proportionality, and which evidence packs to prioritise.
  • Year 2: Full limited assurance – how to lift maturity across governance, strategy, risk and metrics/targets, close common gaps, and prepare for reasonable assurance standards.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Board Directors and Chairs
  • Audit & Risk Committee members
  • CFOs, Group Finance and Treasury
  • Sustainability, Risk and Strategy leaders who support finance and the Board

FACILITATOR

The session will be facilitated by award-winning consultant Nick Palousis, CEO of 2XE, a national leader in climate-related financial disclosures. Nick will draw on his team’s experience and insights from helping over 20 Group 1 and Group 2 companies prepare for their CRFD obligations and navigate the first years of AASB S2 reporting.
