The role:
Our Sydney firm is made up of around 200 staff and Partners in Sydney and a further 40 operating from our Manila office.
We are seeking a People and Culture Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of all HR activities in the employee lifecycle including:
- recruitment,
- onboarding,
- learning and development,
- performance and progression,
- reward and recognition,
- employee relations and performance management, and
- compliance and policy implementation.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team of 3 HR professionals and will be responsible for:
- Drafting and implementing HR strategy in consultation with the People & Culture Committee
- Training and development initiatives (internal & external) for all staff
- Leading the performance and remuneration review process
- Coaching and mentoring leaders and peers on effective people practices
- Managing grievances and performance issues as they arise
- Regularly reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws including Award compliance
- Overseeing the recruitment process to ensure sufficient staff for achieving the firm’s objectives
- Coordinating staff surveys and making recommendations for actions to the People & Culture Committee
- Completion of annual WGEA Report
- Driving other HR projects and initiatives as they arise
To be successful you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline;
- Minimum 6 years’ experience as a HR Generalist in a professional services environment;
- Technical competence in all facets of generalist HR including performance management, change management, talent management, recruitment, succession planning, leadership development, remuneration and benefits, and engagement;
- Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation;
- Demonstrated experience in day-to-day supervision of people and ability to lead a small team;
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, exercising tact and ensuring confidentiality;
- Ability to maintain and build strong relationships with staff and Partners; and
- Excellent attention to detail in HR administration and reporting.
