The Role:

Our Sydney office, which is made up of over 200 staff and 20 partners. We are looking for a talented Assistant Manager or Manager to co-manage a Private Accounting and Tax team.

Reporting to the Accounting & Tax Partners, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Control and run assigned engagements and ensure the successful completion of concurrent assignments by utilising technical competence and required resources.
  • Attending to overall client engagements including accounting and tax compliance services to a portfolio of the firm’s private tax clients.
  • Providing periodic management and tailored financial reports for many of our high net wealth family client groups.
  • Providing direction and training to junior team members, including conducting regular team meetings.
  • Track and monitor various individual and team KPIs, such as financial targets and ATO lodgements.
  • Acting as a mentor/coaching manager, conducting appraisals, goal review and goal setting.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm or family office organisation.
  • Relevant degree and CA/CPA qualified.
  • Proficient accounting skills, and preferably strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.
  • Proven private tax experience with relevant technical knowledge.
  • Clear and articulate communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent staff management and development skills.
