Our tagline, ‘together we make it happen,’ recognises that our people are the firm’s strongest asset.

The role:

Our Sydney office, which is made up of over 200 staff and 20 partners, is looking for an Assistant Manager and Manager to join our Assurance Division.

Due to growing demand for sustainability assurance services, we have the opportunity for experienced assurance professionals to join our Sustainability Assurance team within our expanding Assurance Division.

We are seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager with either previous experience in undertaking sustainability, or climate related assurance engagements, or may have a background in financial audit or internal audit roles, who is passionate about ESG, climate disclosures, and sustainability reporting.

This role is ideal for an experienced assurance professional seeking to transition into the evolving field of sustainability and non-financial assurance.

In this role, you’ll lead and deliver assurance engagements over sustainability-related disclosures (including climate risk, greenhouse gas emissions, and broader ESG reporting), while leveraging your strong technical foundations in audit and assurance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivering sustainability assurance engagements across a variety of industries and client types
  • Managing the end-to-end process of engagements — from planning to reporting
  • Building a deep understanding of emerging sustainability frameworks (e.g. AASB S1 & S2, TCFD, GHG Protocol)
  • Assisting in the development of tools, templates, and methodologies for sustainability assurance
  • Coaching junior team members and contributing to their technical development
  • Collaborating with other service lines and Partners to provide integrated advice to clients
  • Keeping abreast of developments in sustainability reporting standards and assurance practices
  • Contributing to the growth of the firm’s sustainability assurance capability and service offering

Our Audit & Assurance division has over 60 people and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to experience and progress through various career pathways.

The successful applicant will also have:

  • At least 6 years’ experience in audit/assurance, ideally with exposure to listed and complex entities
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Strong technical background in the delivery of assurance engagements in accordance with Australian Assurance Standards (or equivalents) and a keen interest in ESG and sustainability topics
  • Excellent project management skills and commercial awareness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to lead and motivate teams
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation
