The role:

Our Sydney office, which is made up of over 200 staff and 20 partners, is looking for an Assistant Manager and Manager to join our Assurance Division.

Due to growth and the expansion in the range of assurance services delivered by the team, we are looking for dynamic assurance professionals who want the opportunity to work within a high performing team to service a high calibre portfolio of clients. There are opportunities for exposure to assurance engagements over climate related financial disclosures and other areas.

Your day-to-day will provide you the opportunity to supervise and project manage the delivery of a portfolio of assurance engagements. You will demonstrate your technical competence, client service skills and staff management to deliver high quality assurance outcomes in an efficient and effective manner. You will provide guidance to your team and look for opportunities to enhance your relationship with clients and add value.

The role involves: 

  • Working with teams to deliver a range of assurance engagements across a diverse client base
  • Project managing the execution of assurance engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Being curious and alert to risk management.
  • Demonstrating resilience.
  • Commercial awareness of engagement economics with input to project budgets, resource allocation and client management.
  • Collaboratively engaging with your team(s) to elevate team competence and improve productivity.
  • Research and application of financial reporting and assurance knowledge to address complex financial reporting and audit matters.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Innovative and alert to the use of technology and other opportunities to continue to evolve and enhance our service delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with Partners to identify opportunities to expand and evolve the commercial offerings of the Firm.

Our Audit & Assurance division has over 60 people and will give the successful candidate the opportunity to experience and progress through various career pathways.

The successful applicant will also have: 

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in an audit/assurance environment
  • Demonstrated experience in completing financial statement audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Well-developed and effective written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and provide leadership to junior team members.
  • Demonstrate resilience and personal accountability for the delivery of high-quality client service.
  • You act with integrity and show care for the people you work with
