The fourth quarter of FY2022 saw a decrease in the total number of transactions completed in Australia, while the average deal value has increased modestly compared to the corresponding period in the prior year.

Based on the published transaction data for Q4 FY2022, there were 223 deals completed compared to 328 in Q4 FY2021, being a decrease of 32%.

The average deal size increased from $129 million in Q4 FY2021 to $139 million in Q4 FY2022, which can be attributed to an increase in the number of deal sizes in the range of $25-$75 million from 12% in Q4 FY2021 to 20% in Q4 FY2022 and a decrease in the number of deal sizes in the range of $1-$25m from 50% in Q4 FY2021 to 39% in Q4 FY2022.
