The third quarter of FY2021 saw an increase in the number of transactions completed in Australia, but the average deal value has decreased. Based on the published transaction data for Q3 FY2021, there were 285 deals completed compared to 277 in Q3 FY2020, being an increase of 3%. In our analysis we have excluded transactions with a gross transaction value greater than $5 billion.

The average deal size decreased from $77.7 million in Q3 FY2020 to $55.6 million in Q3 FY2021, which can be attributed to a decrease in the number of deals and average deal size for transactions with a gross value over $100 million.
