The first quarter of FY2022 saw an increase in the number of transactions completed in Australia as well as a significant increase in the average deal value. Based on the published transaction data for Q1 FY2022, there were 324 deals completed compared to 291 in Q1 FY2021, being an increase of 11%. In our analysis we have excluded transactions with a gross transaction value greater than $5 billion.

The average deal size increased from $42 million in Q1 FY2021 to $150 million in Q1 FY2022, which can be attributed to an increasing number of deals with transaction values over $100m.
